A Member Preview is held the day before our Book Sale; each family member may buy up to 50 books.
Location: Bangor Elks Club, 108 Odlin Rd
Member Preview: Friday, June 16, 5-7pm for Friends only, however, anyone may join at the door ($10 individual or $15 family)
Book Sale: June 17th from 9am to 3pm
Pricing is as follows:
- $2 hardcover
- $1 trade paperbacks
- $0.50 paperbacks,
- some books specially priced,
- multimedia $0.50
- VHS 4/$1.
Credit cards are accepted.
Book donations are now being accepted!
Bring them to the Creative Arts Center at 54 Wilson Street in Brewer. Books can be dropped off at the Arts Center from 6:00 am – 10 pm every day.
We use any kind of fiction and non-fiction books in clean readable condition. Sadly, we cannot use textbooks or sets of encyclopedias.
Anyone who gave us books for last year’s Book Sale should go to the Library and take a seat on one of the eight rocking chairs or check out the window shades in the Local History Department your books helped purchase.
The Summer Picnic
The picnic is our 'Thank you' to the library staff and volunteers. All members of the Friends are welcome to participate in this small gesture of our appreciation to those who serve the public so well throughout the year.
We Manage the Masonic Bikes for Books
The Masons will give 18 bikes to the Summer Reading Program. Every time a child reads an age-appropriate book, his or her name goes into a drawing; the more they read, the better their chances of earning a bike and safety helmet.
