One role of the Bangor Public Library is
that of community activities center. In performing this role, the
Library provides bulletin boards and distributes print material on
local events, courses, and programs, and serves as a general place
for the dissemination of local information.
These are the policies regarding posting and distribution of
non-library materials:
1. Pamphlets, brochures, flyers and forms may be left in designated
areas of the Library for programs and events sponsored by
government, nonprofit, educational, cultural and recreational
organizations.
2. Content of posters, brochures, flyers, etc. must conform to all
existing laws including those regarding libel, defamation of
character, obscenity, and invasion of privacy.

content, nor will the Library accept responsibility for the accuracy
of the statements made in the materials.
4. Inquiries regarding events and activities described in the
materials should be directed to the sponsors of the events,
programs, etc.
5. Sponsors of programs or events are responsible for replenishing
