Title:
Untold Tales
Author: William J
Brooke
A refreshing rendition of traditional fairy
tales, Brooke gives his characters new spins without
giving them bad attitudes. In the first story a
princess kisses a frog, and when the prince becomes
more concerned with matters of his kingdom than he
does for her, she longs to have her frog again. Next
a beauty and a beast are not who they seem to be,
and its up to the beast to fix a beauty of a mess.
The author then gives an interesting slant on the
stories of Snow White, and Rapunzel. Each story was
captivating in its own way, and his plot twists were
very amusing.
In the final story though, I felt that he made an
inconsistent twist, and this twist was a bit too
strange. I liked his imagination, but I felt his
last story just didn’t flow.
As a whole, I enjoyed Brooke’s creativity in
giving new perspective to old stories. I would
recommend this book to everyone who is able to
suspend their belief without trouble.
