The Bangor Public Library believes in respecting the privacy of our
donors. Our policy for those donating on-line is to use information
you provide for internal purposes only. We maintain appropriate
security measures that are designed to keep this information
private. Users can visit Bangor Public Library sites without
revealing any personal information. If one chooses to give personal
information via the Internet for the purposes of correspondence,
requesting library materials, or subscribing to a library
publication, we will use that information only for Library purposes.
If members or donors tell us that they do not wish to have
personal information used for further contact, we will respect those
wishes. We do track the domains from which people visit us should we
wish to analyze this data for trends, insights and statistics.
Information may be maintained on an “opt-in” basis for
communications and for library services and publications. The
Bangor Public Library takes precautions to keep user information
secure. The Library does not disclose donor-specific information to
third parties or for commercial purposes. To prevent unauthorized
access, maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of
information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic,
and managerial procedures. The Bangor Public Library uses SSL
encryption for all financial transactions to protect personal
information.
The Bangor Public Library does not rent, exchange or sell donors' or
potential donors' names and addresses or library users names and
addresses to outside businesses or organizations.
Refund and Return Policies and Delivery Method Policies are not
relevant for on-line donations, since nothing is exchanged for gifts
and donations to the Library.
