consideration of the people and culture of
Afghanistan and what one person can do to
help others.
Children's and Young Adult versions of the
book
Three Cups of Tea will also be
available, and will make this a Penobscot
Reads selection that all generations can
enjoy together.

Meet Abby Kelley Foster
Lynn Lydick is a Boston- based
actress who specializes in bringing
historical characters to life.
On Saturday, January 30, at 2 PM in the
Library's Lecture Hall,
Ms. Lydick will bring us
Abby Kelley Foster, a human rights advocate
who dared to speak out for the abolition of
slavery and rights for women in the
mid-1800s.. a time when women were not
allowed to participate in political
dialogue, or even speak in public.
Ms. Lydick's appearance is made possible, in
part, by the Worcester History Society
